We're glad to have the following distinguished guests on panel for our inaugural Consulting Summit this fall.
Panel Discussion #1 : Entrepreneurial Consultants
Mr. Shube is a management consultant, author, educator and IT professional with over 40 years of experience in manufacturing and distribution. He is an expert on Import/Export and Supply Chain Management. His practice focuses on helping clients to navigate the complexities of global trade and grow their business. In addition to his consulting practice, Brian is on the faculty at Essex County College and Caldwell University.
Roy Keller '85 is a 30 year veteran of corporate real estate, the last four of which have been spent as a consultant. His clients include American Express, CBRE, CTS, RPA, and IRI Worldwide. Prior to becoming a consultant, Roy was director of global real estate for AON Corp and deputy director of real estate for JP Morgan. During his career Roy was responsible for $1/2 billion in run rate reduction. Roy's wife and both of his children also graduated from Lehigh.
Mr. Yesulaitis is an accomplished industry veteran and thought leader in IT and Computer Engineering Consulting, Staff Augmentation, graduate of Lehigh University and founder of Aavalar Consulting. Aavalar Consulting provides consulting, staffing, and staff augmentation for IT and computer engineering organizations. Aavalar Consulting has been named to the Wharton Business School’s list of Philadelphia’s 100 Fastest growing companies three separate times.
Ms. DeIaco-Smith, Managing Consultant, brings over sixteen years of management and systems integration consulting experience to her clients: Holly ventured her own consulting firm called HDS Consulting. HDS Consulting Inc is a management consulting organization that provides Big 4 management consulting experience and methodologies to organizations that are looking to grow their businesses by making transformational changes.
Prof. Pat Costa
Pat Costa, Professor of Practice, in the Integrated Business & Engineering (IBE) Honors Program at Lehigh University earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in marketing from the Pennsylvania State University. Costa is the primary instructor for the IBE Freshman Workshop, the IBE Entrepreneur Independent Study Program, and the IBE Senior Capstone Design Program. Additional teaching responsibilities at Lehigh University include: lead instructor in the introductory course of the Entrepreneur Minor Program and, lead marketing instructor at the Pennsylvania School for Global Entrepreneurship at Lehigh University. Prior to coming to Lehigh University, Costa was the president and cofounder of Fiberoptic Medical Products, a medical manufacturing company that specialized in neonatal/pediatric care, and vice president of marketing and communications of Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network. Costa’s many product development achievements include the invention of a fiberoptic medical device used to treat newborn jaundice, a fiberoptic transilluminator used in neonatal transport, and a computerized pulmonary function system used to assess the lung mechanics of neonates on ventilators in real time at the bedside. Costa is skilled in many aspects of product and business development with particular interest in new business start-up, sales strategies and tactics, long-range planning, segmentation analysis, and healthcare marketing.Costa recently published Think Outside Yourself an interactive eBook written for anyone who teaches creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Included are 28 lectures plus in-class activities, critical thinking assignments, and project-based examples that help create an entrepreneurial mindset.
Panel Discussion #2 : Finding Success at a Large Firm
Mr. Trakimas is a Finance Transformation and Financial System Implementation Leader with management consulting expertise in finance strategy, large scale financial ERP transformation programs, cloud computing, process re-engineering, shared services planning, design and global deployment.
Mr. Curran is a global consulting leader specializing in insurance industry strategy and technology solutions. With over 25+ years of experience, Scott has deep strategic and hands-on knowledge of technology strategies, core solutions, data/analytics, and digital capabilities that transform the insurance industry.
Mr. Hefner is a Senior Manager in Deloitte’s Life Sciences R&D Strategy Practice with over 15 years of experience across the BioPharma, MedTech, Microelectronics, Chemicals, Aerospace, and Automotive industries. At Deloitte, Matt drives design and execution of corporate strategies with large and small global biopharmaceutical, medical technology, and biotech companies; federal health agencies; contract research organizations; and academic research organizations. Specifically, he advises on competitive strategy, growth and innovation, digital, operating models, governance, alliances and sourcing, M&A and integration, process improvement, and change management. These solutions create value and differentiation, increase productivity, and reduce risk across his clients’ R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Commercial, and supporting functions. Prior to Deloitte, he worked in program management and engineering roles at Johnson & Johnson, Lockheed Martin, IBM, and GM. Matt has a BS and MEng from Lehigh in Mechanical Engineering with Minors in Economics and Music and an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
Ms. Khobot is a recently promoted senior manager in the Advisory practice at EY. She graduated Lehigh University with a B.S. in Accounting and holds a CPA license in the state of NY. She has over eight years of experience in the financial services industry serving domestic and global financial institutions. Sofia’s focus has been on the regulatory reform agenda within the regulatory capital and risk management space. She has advised clients on various regulations, including Basel III, CCAR and RRP.
Dr. Jim Brennan
Dr. Brennan is a college educator as well as a human performance specialist whose expertise is the field of Emotional Intelligence. He serves a wide range of clientele who must perform at their best under substantial pressure including university students, elite athletes, business executives and corporate leadership teams. He currently holds the position of Professor of Management at Lehigh University in the College of Business and Economics. He is the former Dean of the Wescoe School for Professional Studies at Muhlenberg College. From 2001-2008, he consulted for USAID facilitating leadership training workshops in Asia, South America, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe. In 2016, he accepted an invitation to join the inaugural steering team for the Civilian-Military Humanitarian Disaster Response Initiative, a project co-sponsored by the United Nations, the U.S. Naval War College, and the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative. From 2005-2017, Dr. Brennan served as the Sports Psychology Consultant for the Villanova men's basketball team which qualified for the NCAA Tournament 11 times in 12 years, reaching the Final Four in 2009 and winning the NCAA National Championship in 2016. Dr. Brennan served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam in 1971-72 as a combat M.P. After his discharge from the armed forces he went on to distinguish himself as a track & field sprinter and decathlete at the University of Wyoming where he earned a B.S. in Psychology, a B.A. in Social Studies, an M.A. in Education, and a Ph.D. in Adult Learning. His doctoral research focused on the nature and realization of psychological maturity.
